Mondays can be a little painful to move from the weekend back to work mode, so I want to share a motivational item every Monday to kick start our week. It’s not necessarily going to be about living on one income, although I hope more often than not that it will tie in with that theme. This is motivation in the form of a quote, a story, a video, or an article or book that I’ve read that will maybe give you something to think about, enjoy, and get us going on a Monday, especially on those rainy Mondays.
So, Week 5 of our 10-week challenge. How have things been going for you? We have talked about keeping a gratitude journal, taking some “me time”, refraining from buying coffee outside of our homes for 1 week, and making our beds in the mornings. Have you been doing these things? Comment below and let us know if you have tried any of these challenges and if you have, have you kept them up?
For me, I finally took some “me time” last night and kept up with my reading. I’m currently reading, The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn. Very good, so far. I love a good thriller. Journaling has been kind of hit or miss for me. I’ve found that I’m journaling a lot about being grateful that my kids arrive home safely at night from work. Yes, I am a worrywart, especially concerning the major snowfall we had yesterday.
So, for this week, let’s make our challenge to get some exercise. I know exercise can help to decrease stress, and I personally think it’s something I need to do on a regular basis to not only help me tone up and lose some weight and gain some strength, but also to decrease the anxiety I feel sometimes just worrying over my kids and their work life. That’s a whole other blog post! So, this week see if you can fit in some exercise if you don’t already do so. Let’s aim for 30 minutes 3 to 5 days a week. I think that’s doable.
Let me know what type of exercise you do and how does it make you feel? What are some good exercises to relieve stress other than walking?
