Mondays can be a little painful to move from the weekend back to work mode, so I want to share a motivational item every Monday to kick start our week. It’s not necessarily going to be about living on one income, although I hope more often than not that it will tie in with that theme. This is motivation in the form of a quote, a story, a video, or an article or book that I’ve read that will maybe give you something to think about, enjoy, and get us going on a Monday, especially on those rainy Mondays.
I’m having a hard time trying to think positively this Monday. I am not very motivated or inspired. The whole weekend we have been deluged with freezing rain. It’s really hard to believe that we are mid way through April and this is what I’m looking at in my backyard. This picture I took Saturday afternoon, so imagine another day of freezing rain (Sunday) and it’s about 4 inches deep now.
I want to see my tulips shooting up through the soil and the crocuses poking their purple and yellow heads up. The poor robins almost look dazed from the freezing rain. I saw one little robin sitting in the middle of the road yesterday seemingly not knowing where to go to. I almost feel like their little wings are frozen and they can’t fly. They must be wondering why in the heck they are here in this climate. I’m wondering why the heck I’m here in this climate! The winter has been so long – it seems to get longer every year. October began cold and it’s lasted through now. That’s 7 months so far of cold, just plain rotten weather.
Okay – think good thoughts, think warm thoughts. Think tulips and my crab apple tree in blossom. Right? It’s got to happen at some point. Right?
I know for sure that if the summer is warm, I will be out on my deck enjoying it. Forget the multitude of projects that I should be doing in my home. Winter is long enough that I can complete those projects during the cold months. The summer is meant for everyone to be outside soaking up the sunshine. Can’t wait!
