Wow! Travel and summer holidays has thrown me for a loop. I’m so far behind in posting at House of Six and doing most anything in my life right now. I’m going to blame it on the weather – we have been having such a hot summer here in Canada that I don’t feel like working on anything. Except for my actual job, I haven’t had the drive or initiative to keep up with my projects. I guess I lean more towards the Autumn, where the air is cool and you have the energy for gardening and making pot roasts and knitting. Awww, my knitting. I miss it.
How has your summer been? Has it been hot where you live?
For those of you who have stuck with me anyway, without fresh posts to read, I thank you.
A while back, back in May, I mentioned that my husband and I were travelling in the Azores and Madeira. I wanted to bring you some easy ways that we saved money while we were travelling.
I was supposed to bring you a series of posts a while back, so over the next few weeks, I hope to bring you a series of tips to save money while travelling including tips on accommodations, food, excursions, and transportation. Although the summer is almost done (can you believe we are in the second week of August), these tips can be used whenever you travel to wherever you travel. So, over the next few Fridays I have some simple information that I hope you can use, plus I’ll be sharing the wonderful pictures of our trip with you as well. Watch out for our selfies – I don’t think hubbie and I will ever get the hang of a selfie!!!
It was our first time in Ponta Delgada, Azores and my third time in Madeira, Portugal. My husband is from Madeira but moved to Canada when he was about 6 years old. He absolutely loves being in Madeira and so do I. The people are friendly, the scenery is amazing and the food is even better. Madeira is really a place that can take you away from your reality for a wonderful vacation.
We’ll see you next Friday with the first of my posts about spending money on food while vacationing. See you then.
